image Remember the good old days?

When the best “networker” won the most clients.  You know, the agent who hung around the Rotary and service clubs and spent his time “prospecting” was the one who dominated the market.

Well, those days really weren’t all that good…unless you liked selling one-at-a-time and trading precious time for money.  A lot of agents were thrilled to trade in those old, slow methods for marketing.  I know that my clients were.  And, with marketing, you’re no longer trading time for money.  You’re selling in multiples – and trading strategy for money.

There’s still networking going on.  But less and less of that networking is happening at monthly service club meetings…while more and more is happening at on “Social Media.”  And it’s not once a month.  It’s happening every single day.

Look at these numbers:

  • 13 million users update their statuses at least once each day
  • 2.5 million users become fans of Pages each day
  • 700 million photos are uploaded to the site each month
  • 4 million videos are uploaded each month
  • 5 million pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photos, etc.) are shared each month
  • 2 million events created each month
  • 19 million active groups exist on the site

Those are VERY serious numbers.  And that’s only Facebook.  That doesn’t count the incredible growth of Twitter PLUS all those niche/industry discussion groups.

ONE REASON YOU’LL LOVE FACEBOOK: unlike most “Internet marketing,” social media marketing doesn’t require programming or any more technical knowledge than the average agent already has.  PLUS, you can test your marketing for instant results – and test it for BETTER results.  A direct marketer’s dream media!

And don’t be fooled.  Grandmothers are uploading pictures of their grandchildren.  (I upload pictures of MY grandchildren.)  And company CEO’s are networking with their high school chums.  This is NOT a “kids” environment.

Don’t get left behind.  NOW is the time to develop your Social Media Marketing strategy.

Your clients are already there.  Your prospects are already there.  Other agents are already there.  Shouldn’t you be?

Michael

PS: Word of warning – which I’ll talk more about later.  DON’T DO IT THE WRONG WAY.  Your Facebook and Social Media Strategy is NOT the same as your personal Facebook usage.  I’ve seen agents seriously damage their client relationships because they mixed up the real meaning of the term “friends.”  I’d like to URGE you to join me in a free training on this topic with America’s leading Social Media Marketing expert for small business, Julia Gorzka.  To register, just click here:
